An Entertaining Trip To Delaware

Delaware is the second-smallest state in america. Much of the state is rural, with 45km of coastline. Lewes is a quaint seaside historic town with some delightful beaches. Cape Henlopen state park is Delaware’s largest state park, with its seabird nesting colony and white sand dunes.

Delaware was the first state to endorse the United States constitution, back in 1787. The state has a rich history - Fort Christina historic park is the site of Delaware’s first permanent settlement when Finns and Swedes landed here in 1638. Its administrative  and commercial center, Wilmington, was founded in the same year. The city includes museums, galleries, a port and a trolley car system modeled on the world-famous cable cars in San Francisco and is known as the "First State" as it was the first to ratify the united Delaware is one of five middle Atlantic states in the United States of America. Delaware was one of the original thirteen colonies and is known as the "First State" as it was the first to endorse the United States constitution. The name Delaware comes from Thomas West, 3rd baron de la warr, after whom Delaware bay was named. Delaware is the second-smallest state in the United States, Rhode Island being the smallest.The big august quarterly is an annual religious festival held in Wilmington, Delaware, and is sometimes called "Big Quarterly" or "August Quarterly". The festival began in 1814 by Peter Spencer in connection with the "Quarterly" meeting or "Conference" of the African union church. Out of the four meetings during the year, the one in august became the "Annual Conference" of the church when ministers' assignments for the next year were announced, among other business - it was a time for free blacks and slaves alike to come together (from the multi-state area) and celebrate their faith with singing, dancing, testifying, and feasting. It is the oldest such celebration in the country was named.

Fort Smith, Arkansas is an exciting destination "Where the New South meets the Old West." The people are passionate about both the past and the future. Many of our ancestors did some hard living in Fort Smith and left their mark, making the city a living memorial to both the rough and tumble and more discreet sides of the areas frontier heritage. Classic western movies such as "Hang'em High" with clint eastwood and "True Grit" with John Wayne were moved by Fort Smith's colorful history.

Fort Smith was at the forefront of providing justice on the western frontier, with Judge Isaac C Parker holding court for the federal government in the western district of Arkansas at the turn of the century.

Fort Smith is the place to view the Aurora, which fills the sky with vibrant color and emotion. October through March is the peak months for viewing the Aurora. Fluid splashes of bluish green, yellow purples, pink and white meld into streaks of pulsating light that illuminate the black canvas of tranquil darkness. There are many backcountry camping opportunities around Fort Smith through wood Buffalo national park. Fort Smith is also your gateway to other backcountry destinations such as the peace point and sweet grass station, a historic bison corral. Little Buffalo falls is a great place to spend the afternoon with its waterfalls, picnic areas and hiking trails. Little Buffalo is located towards the town of hay river.

The slave rapids monument is located on marine drive. This monument is a tribute to the river guides and explorers who traveled on the slave river in the 1700's and the 1800's. For those hiking lovers there are hikes of all lengths and challenges around Fort Smith. rapids of the drowned, mountain rapids, pelican rapids and cassette rapids are each unique and beautiful and are the four rapids that lie between Fort Smith & Fort Fitzgerald. With great hiking trails to the rapids, it makes it fun and accessible. The slave river attracts people and especially kayakers from all over the world. Pelican birds are seen nesting in the area. With a pair of binoculars and hiking boots a good time is guaranteed. If you love seeing Bison’s a charter bus drive to Wood Buffalo national park being North american's largest national park is home to the largest free roaming herd of Bison in the world and the summer nesting grounds of the rare whooping crane. There are also movies on the park available that are played on request.

Historic Fort Smith is home to many outstanding museums that celebrate its unique past. The Fort Smith national historic site lets you explore two frontier forts and reflect along the trail of tears. The Fort Smith trolley museum, Fort Smith museum of history and numerous homes provide insight into the development of the town. The northwest Arkansas region is full of natural beauty.
