A college town, Jonesboro is the largest city in northeastern Arkansas and the fifth most populous city in the state. Forested hills portray much of Crowley's Ridge state park, and there is a moderate hiking trail here that is ideal for relaxing nature walks. You can also rent boats and canoes at the park and do a little boating or fishing. You can also choose to do some camping. Lake frierson state park offers campsites, and you can rent various watercrafts here as well. Visiting Lake Frierson state park when the dogwood trees are blooming in the spring is always a treat.

There are enough attractions here to keep you busy for at least a few days, and if you can include one of the Jonesboro events on your agenda, then the entire trip will be complete. The place also has a beautiful gallery and an educating library that are definitely worth a visit. Sara Howell art gallery and the Craighead county & Jonesboro public library are the notable places that are worth a visit.
