In Juneau, visitors can enjoy several whale-watching that are just the thing for families. Bears are also popular in the Juneau area. People run into small black bears on the outskirts of the city, but these bears are very timid and bashful normally posing no threat to humans.  

Juneau is an ideal base for an expedition into the elegant Alaskan wilds, if it is for fishing and kayaking in the National Parks, whale-watching at Icy Strait or glacier hiking at the Juneau Ice field. The city has over six lakh cruise ship passengers every summer and has a vivacious economy that thrived by tourism. Homes in Juneau are generally small cottages.  The lack of height and crouch form of the buildings makes them easier to heat and maintain in Alaska's ruthless weather.

You had better go on a good weather day, so you can obtain remarkable photos. A number of of my kids much loved photos of our vacation to Alaska were taken at this St. Teresa shrine site, mostly of flourishing green trees and glowing shrubbery, vibrant flowers, a breathtaking wooden stairway and an attractive stonework on the chapel.

It was very nice and remarkable experience when our Charter Bus took us to the Alaskan Brewery where we have had taste some of the diverse barley. They gave a great short little lesson on the history of t he place and the practice of brewing beer. Really enjoyed the fact filled tour and tasty refreshments.

In Juneau, you can easily explore the adjoining area's loaded wildlife.  Among the types of wildlife general to the Juneau region are quite a few species of whales including both humpbacks and orcas.
